I am going to have to give you a little back story before I can get into the juicy details of the proposal.
Austin and I met in high school. I moved schools in April of my Junior year from Cy-Falls to Magnolia. I thought my life was ending. Seriously. Everything I worked so hard for that felt like the world was going to be gone in an instant and I would have to start all over. For those of you that don’t know I was super involved in FFA. Lucky me when I moved I got put into 2 Ag classes. 1st period was the Intro to Ag class with all freshman (remember I was a Junior), and 2nd period was fishing class (yep, Magnolia High School had a pond). Fast forward to second period, class empties out I stay in the same seat right at the front of class of course, and a new class comes in. I remember seeing this one boy walk in and sit in the front corner. When I got home that night my mom asked if there were any cute boys at school, I told her this one but he didn’t talk to me at all.
Finally after a couple of weeks it happened, that quiet boy in the corner talked to me. His name was Austin. Austin spent 6 months chasing after me and finally succeeded in September of our Senior year.
Look how cute we were at homecoming 😀 oh and how young Austin looks.

We dated for 4 1/2 years before he finally popped the big question.
I can remember the day like it was yesterday. I was sitting there working when I received this random text “lets go take bluebonnet pictures this weekend.” We had always talked about doing this but just never got around to it. He knew that when he proposed there had to be 3 conditions, 1. my hair must be done 2. my nails must be done, and 3. there has to be pictures. Whoa, I promise y’all I am not that superficial, I just knew if he didn’t figure out a way to do this I would probably be wearing a t shirt and shorts because thats about all my post college wardrobe consisted of.
The day rolled around and we got all ready and went and found the perfect spot of bluebonnets, set up my camera got everything ready…and then I endured the longest 5 minutes of my life. I tried for the life of me to set us up and get the camera just right and it was just not happening. Finally Austin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, only one little problem. He left the ring in his pocket, so he had to dig it out and finally I got to see it!! It was gorgeous. Of course I said yes! In my excitement I jumped into his arms to hug him and managed to rip my dress. Luckily I had a back up in the car.

I was so excited I was speechless.
Make sure you stop by next week as I dig into actually planning the big day and how to handle that big question “When are you getting married???”
Comment with any questions you have so I can make sure I answer them as I write future posts.
