So the other day I had the pleasure of photographing Baby H. Almost two years ago I photographed her big brother. Asher was one of my first newborns that I photographed and it is amazing to look back and see how far my photography has come in those two years. I am so incredibly thankful for those clients that trusted me in the beginning to capture their life unfolding, and especially those clients that have grown with my business.
PinThisPeople always ask how I learned to photograph babies, and the truth is I spend a huge amount of time learning from workshops both online and in person…oh and I can’t forget the investments I have made upgrading my equipment and building the newborn studio in Montgomery,TX so that I have the perfect space for photographing newborns. There are probably two major workshops that have made a huge difference in my newborn photography I mentored with Erin Phillips Photography almost a years ago, she mainly photographs newborns and being in such an awesome group of newborn photographs I finally caught the newborn photography bug. I was even able to attend one of her newborn workshops in Louisiana last summer which was amazing. This year I had the opportunity to attend a Julia Kelleher workshop at Texas School, let me tell you, it was life changing!! I have also watched so many online workshops and read so many guides and books, I can’t even keep track of all of them.
I am so incredibly thankful that because of my photography I get to meet so many amazing women.

PinThisAs a photographer I sit in the office most days, and in reality spend very little time behind the camera and meeting with clients. I have so many “virtual” friends, those friends that I have met on Facebook and connected with but we have never actually met. These are the people that keep me sane and are always there to listen when I need someone to talk to or even bounce ideas off of.

I just thought it was hard get a newborn to sleep, I had no idea how hard it was to photograph a Minnion watching toddler with his baby sister 😉 But I this is still precious.
Now for your flashback to September of 2013.
