I want to try something new with this wedding blog, leave Dorothy and Trey some love by commenting on this post. You can leave your secrets to a happy marriage, date night ideas, or even your favorite recipe for the newlyweds.
It has been a crazy year and a half since I first met Dorothy at an Ashelynn Manor open house in Magnolia,TX. My business has grown immensely, my photography has evolved into something more than I could have ever imagined, and I have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people who have allowed me to step into their lives and capture some of the most important moments.
I can not believe I am sitting here writing this Ashelynn Manor wedding’s blog post just 4 days after the wedding..I always dread the moment when my couple’s weddings are over. I feel like I am losing them, but I am pretty confident I will get to see Dorothy and her family in the future. This weekend while I was attending the Ashelynn Manor open house I had a couple of people ask why I only do a very limited number of weddings each year…it’s this simple. I invest so much time, and emotion into my wedding clients that I simply don’t think I would be able to get to know them on such a personal level and really connect with them if I photographed 30+ weddings a year. I give each one of them a piece of my heart. I really do consider each and every one of my couples part of my family, and often times their families too. I know this sounds so cheesy writing it out or telling people, this is something that I will never quite be able to explain. I adore my clients, they are the reason I work late at night and sacrifice time with my own family at times. They are what keeps me going.
I loved every detail of this wedding especially the vibrant colors. I also adore that Dorothy & Trey chose to do a first look! The sun peeked through the clouds just in time for Trey to see his Bride for the first time. I am seriously swooning over all of their pictures from the couples portrait time after the first look.
If you are getting married here are some reasons to have a first look.
1. More portraits of the two of you
2. You can really see his reaction and see what he has to say about your wedding day look
3. Quality time together
4. It helps to get rid of all of the nerves
5. Your groom is much more likely to cry when it is just you and him

I have to share what Dorothy’s mom had to say about her experience with Designs by Karinda:
“Words cannot express how much I appreciate having you for our photographer. It is my job to be able to read people in a short amount of time and from the first time I met you I told Dorothy you were the one that should be our wedding photographer. (Didn’t hurt that you were also an Aggie! LOL) The patience you have had with us and the wonderful job you have done for us clearly shows this is your calling and not a job. I have loved your professionalism and kindness throughout the whole process from engagement, to save the dates, to bridal portraits, and throughout Dorothy & Trey’s wedding. My family has commented on your professionalism and the care you took during the wedding and reception to be there without really being there. They really appreciated that you were never “in the way” or “intrusive” but let the wedding take place without interfering. I know you captured some great shots because everyone commented on how they didn’t even know you were there until they noticed you snapped a picture. We cannot wait to see those candid shots. I won’t say good-bye or anything that implies we won’t see you again because I know we will. You will be taking many more pictures for us in the future.”

Maura Joyce - Great points! I didn’t have bridal portraits taken and I sooo wish I had.
Casey - Bridal portraits are ALWAYS a good idea because things are so fast-paced on the wedding day that sometimes the timeline and emotion gets in the way of properly documenting the bride on her big day.
Ruth Bloch - SOOO beautiful!!!! Love it!
Rebecca - Beautiful
Shaindel Kramer - I so wish I had taken the time to do this 10 years ago when I got married, my photographer never even suggested it! I would love to have images like this to show my children, they’re timeless.
Sarah - Just lovely! And what a nice way to reduce stress on your wedding day!
